Bless this Stress.

So, I’ve been MIA  Well, not in real life or anything, but as far as the blogosphere is concerned, I kinda fell off the face of the earth for the last 9 days.

I’ve been so busy with courses, clients AND setting up something new and exciting that I will hopefully be able to talk way more about next week!

There will most likely be some big changes as Beets Per Minute nears it’s second BIRTHDAY, this coming Monday.

Let’s just say I have A LOT to think about between today and Sunday!

Good thing I am going up to my in-law’s where the Internet is an illusion and you have to do things like go into nature and have actual face-to-face conversations.

It’s a good thing!

I’ve also discovered that I don’t know how to make pulled pork in a slow cooker, which is supposed to be as easy as boiling water AND that first pancakes are sort of like clouds.  You know, if you stare at them long enough they start to look like things.

For instance, this totally looks like a frog jumping off a lily pad …right?

LOLZ (FYI, if you use “LOL” these days you’re apparently “old”).

There are, like, 99 reasons I’m most pleased that I am not a “Millennial”.

Also, we got rid of that pan.  Haha (young).

But wait, there’s more!

There are five facts I have learned about myself in the stress that has been the last approximate week and a half.

  1. I am addicted to Snack-a-Jacks Chocolate Chip rice cakes.  I legit need an intervention.
  2. Squats are my frenemy.
  3. My hair is changing color daily.  I think it’s my mind’s way of trying to make me not miss out on foliage this year.  Is there such a thing as grey leaves?
  4. I would like Glasgow to have a leash law.  I love dogs, but I don’t love stepping in their crap constantly (or looking at it on the sidewalk/grass/in front of my flat).
  5. If I kick myself in the ass JUST enough, I will be able to get somewhere with my career.  I mean, I did move to another country six months ago and I haven’t completely fallen apart yet!

Though, it’s true, this Instagram account pretty much saves me from a bad day at all times.  I mean, c’mon, how could it not?

Norbert is everything.

Norbert is everything.

How’s your week going?  Do you learn things about yourself while you’re under stress?  How cute is Norbert?

I cant think of anything I have learned about myself from being stressed, except that I become totally irrational! I still use LOL and feel like I am too old to even use that. Good luck with all the exciting things that are happening for you this week!

Haha Lisa I am normally totally irrational. I use LOL all the time. I feel too old for pretty much everything these days, that’s why I’m glad I’ve finally accepted that I can’t keep up with millennials. Hope you have a great weekend, Lisa!

I thought you had been stolen away by a group of Glasgow ruffians Erin!

I was beginning to think I might never get a next installment of “Abroad City: An American Living in Glasgow” 😉

Ah, but seriously as I said when we all hooked up, it’s pretty obvious that you’re busy building your business, from what you’ve been writing here, so good on you!

I’m intrigued (well nosey ok? 🙂 ) as to what you’ve been setting up that’s “new and exciting”! Can’t wait to hear all about it next week!

Ps. Yes to Glasgow having a leash law for dogs. But then again some of the owners need one too………. LOLZ (I use LOLZ cause I thought it made me sound younger 😀 )

I’m too tough for ruffians! LOLZ. I’ve been crazy busy. Every time I would sit down to start a blog post I would just start freaking out about something else I needed to be doing. I have a really hard time focusing and prioritising things. It’s ridiculous.

I know you’re doing the 10k which is before the half marathon, but let’s definitely communicate about meeting up. I think we’re planning on being there most of the day!

I feel really badly about wanting a leash law, but honestly, I have been at the end of my rope many times over the past month with all the dog crap everywhere. It’s out of control!! If your dog is running around free you’re not watching where it’s ..well GOING. Meanwhile, I had the most adorable yorkie jumping on me in the park earlier and I was totally happy she wasn’t on a leash.

I’m an indecisive bitch, truth be told.

haha! I’m constantly working on that handle stress thing :-0
I’m totally following that puppy for future stress episodes!

Oh, Julie you will NOT regret following Norbert! He literally saves me from myself all day, every day. <3

I was wondering where you disappeared to! And I spy a snazzy new profile picture! Looks gorgeous, lady 🙂 What I learn about myself from stress. Hmm. That I enjoy cookies for dinner and have a habit of soldiering through until I completely break down and have a snot-filled breakdown in my closet at 2am on a random night. Then feel completely better and start the whole process over again 😆

Awww thanks, Amanda! I’m with you on cookies for dinner (sometimes ice cream) and a much-needed break down from time to time. I don’t have a closet that works for it in my current apartment, so I just do in anywhere. Let’s just say there’s probably a bunch of people in Glasgow who think I’m nuts! Oh well, you’re so right about feeling better and starting the process over again! 😉

I hate dog crap too, I think it is one of the rudest things a person can do is let their dog poop on other peoples property -yuck. You are not crazy that pancake does look like a frog jumping off a lily pad!!! Norbert is adorable. Have a great day and watch where you step..

I love dogs so much, but it’s awful over here because there’s no enforced leash law. The dogs are lovely and well mannered, but the dog crap is just everywhere. I definitely have to constantly look where I’m stepping! If Norbert wasn’t on a leash that would be a different story. I love him. He’s seriously the cutest ‘lil guy! Thanks, Heather!

What I learn from stress? That too much coffee is not the answer. And that I also need to hide under the covers sometimes.
    Glad your back 🙂

There’s definite such a thing as too much coffee — I TOTALLY concur! I’ve hidden under the covers more times than I can even count. Feels good to join the blogging world again. I had separation anxiety! <3

  7. September 24, 2015 / 7:49 pm

I officially need norbert and also a penis pancake (with white chocolate chips for even more fun!). I’m so glad that you are good busy! Rock it out, lady!

Hahaha that pancake was made on a Sunday too — haha white chocolate chips would have been a nice touch! 😉 Norbert makes life better. It’s just a fact. Thanks for the encouragement, Susie! 🙂

I have to agree, when you do stare at something for a while it does start to look like something. We had this intricately patterned bed spread and I always say to Jesse “look! It looks like a face!” and he can’t see it… I either have an overactive imagination – or he has none haha.

Norbert is way too cute.. I need to follow that IG account now!

  9. September 25, 2015 / 6:44 am

Oooh I look forward to hearing your news! Sometimes we all need a bit of a break – adding more stress is not the way to go!
I want a Norbert so bad!!!!

Yesterday the CUTEST teacup Yorkie jumped into my lap out of nowhere while I was waiting for a client in the park. About a minute later the owner came over relieved that she had found her dog, but for about 30 seconds I thought, “holy sh*t this dog literally just FELL into my lap!” It was nowhere near as cute as Norbert but pretty darn close! 🙂

  10. September 26, 2015 / 4:13 am

Whoa, that was random. Most excellent. I totally have a tonne of grey hair coming in too! I used to hate it but now I give zero fucks. And I’ll say LOL whenever I damn well please. I love being one of the older ones on here. I am going to be the best old lady. So nasty, and crotchety. I can’t wait. I’m always stressed out. Seriously. If it’s not one thing around here, it’s another. I learn a lot about bum cream, because I constantly get stress diarrhea. LOL. K I should probably backspace 80% of this comment but I’m going to just press post. Mwuahahaha….

Haha Suzy! I love that you give zero fucks. I’m right there with ya! To being crotchety old ladies one day — cheers! Never backspace, I love your comments so so much! <3
